Merry Tuba Christmas at Capital University

About MKS Music Studios and owner/ Mckenzie Shalosky

Mckenzie Shalosky graduated with bachelors degree in music education and a partial acting degree in May of 2015 from Mount Vernon Nazarene University. She has played trumpet since 4th grade (22 years experience). Mckenzie has always adored the creative arts. She began private vocal instruction and trumpet instruction in the fifth grade and participated in school and community theater and band programs through her college career and beyond. Mckenzie has learned so much from both her private instructors and believes both of them helped her on her path to becoming a music educator. She is grateful to each for helping her find her purpose. Some notable productions she has been apart of include; The King and I (MVNU Anna Leonowens), The Music Man (Butterfly Guild of ColumbusPickalittle girl) and Ebenezer (Columbus Children’s theater Mrs. Fezziwig). She loves to play with community bands, Pickerington Community Theater, Capitols Merry Tuba Christmas and NACHO Street Band. In college, Mckenzie fell in love with playing the other brass instruments including tuba, french horn, trombone and baritone and has worked diligently on each to improve her playing abilities in order to teach each one with comfortability. Mckenzie has dreamed of owning her own business since she was a little girl. She grew up in a family who owns a business and saw how self fulfilling and creative it can be. She obtained her small business license summer of 2025. Along side owning her business, Mrs. Shalosky is a brass technician for Berlin Middle School and Shanahan Middle School in Olentangy. She also teaches acting camp and band camp with Summer Experience Columbus Academy.
